Background
Lauren was born and raised in Colorado, and has had an affinity for the human sciences since she can remember. Following her interests, she graduated Colorado State University in 2016 with her Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine. While in college, Lauren worked in nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities as a CNA and this- combined with several volunteer hours spent in hospitals- is where she first began to understand the "ins and outs" of aging. Wanting to continue to work with the aging population, Lauren was fortunate to be hired as a personal trainer at MacKenzie Place Retirement Community in Fort Collins, CO after graduating college. Certifying through the Senior Fitness Association, Lauren deepened her understanding of what it means to work with aging adults of all abilities-both physically and cognitively- and developed a true passion for helping this demographic.
Founding CEFitness
In 2018, Lauren and her dog Odie moved to sunny San Diego! Lauren worked as a personal trainer in serveral fitness settings-from corporate fitness to privately owned gyms. While she loved being able to use her skillset to help people of all ages, Lauren missed working with the aging population, and saw a large disparity in accesible resources- especially fitness resources- available to San Diego's aging adult and senior citizens. Determined to help fill this gap, CEFitness was born!Â
CEFitness Mission
Lauren's goal through founding CEfitness is to not only help the aging adults and seniors of San Diego better their lives through fitness, but to create a more accessible network of resources for them. CEFitness was founded with the understanding that every person is unique, and has barriers and restrictions specific to them. Through building community, leading with empathy, and working with other genuine and compassionate providers, CEFitness has a mission to better the lives of the aging adults and seniors of San Diego!

"When we were choosing a personal trainer as senior adults, we knew we had to consider more than just fitness. For us, it was about safety, trust and long-term health. The right trainer had to understand how bodies change with age and how to work with those changes. We wanted someone who had experience with seniors to be certain that person understood mobility limitations, balance issues and chronic conditions. Our trainer must be someone who cared about our medical history, and emphasized proper form over intensity. Critical for seniors is mastering balance to prevent falls, strength training for our daily tasks, and flexibility to maintain mobility.
Lauren D'Rosario is a mature young woman who has been our personal trainer twice a week since 2023. She has surpassed all our expectations: Lauren explains things clearly, moves at a comfortable pace and listens to our feedback about our bodies at each session. She keeps us motivated so we look forward to our meetings on zoom. Lauren is a perfect fit for this 86-year-old woman and 90-year-old man. We track our progress regularly: our balance has improved, our daily activities come more easily, we have increased energy, and believe it or not, we have fun. What else could two old-timers ask for?!"
"I've been training with Lauren since April 2021, and the fact that I've stayed with her for over five years really speaks for itself. She's been the biggest factor in keeping me consistent and, more importantly, injury-free. Lauren is a total pro- she's meticulous about form and is amazing at modifying workouts on the fly through our online sessions if I'm having an 'off' day or dealing with a naggy ache. Beyond the technical side, she's just a genuinely nice person who is a pleasure to talk to. It's rare to find a trainer who is this knowledgeable but also so supportive and easy to get along with. If you want someone who actually cares about your long-term health and makes the work feel less like a chore, I can't recommend her enough."
"Lauren is so amazing! She really takes time to assess your level of fitness, listens to your goals, and develops a program that works well for you. Iv'e been seeing Lauren for about 3 years now, and I've made so much progress! She always keeps me motivated to work hard! Best trainer ever!"
